So at $399-$479 for the NeoCharge, you aren’t saving a ton of money over installing a second 240 outlet. Obviously, NeoCharge can be utilized for two separate appliances. NeoCharge is also portable, so we could take it to our vacation home if we needed dual charging there. Or conversely, if you have solar, you could charge during the day if you wanted. This would allow you to charge only at night when rates are lowest. Then, in the middle of the night, the charger would flip over and start charging the second car theoretically until full. During the course of the night, EV#1 might take two to six hours to charge to full. In a dual car situation, the primary plug would keep EV #1 charging until it was fully charged and then flip over to EV #2. If you needed an emergency charge, you’d simply turn off the dryer. When the laundry cycle is complete, it would continue back to car charging. At the point where you actually needed the dryer, the NeoCharge would flip over to the dryer for the duration of its usage. When car charging, the dryer would draw enough power to be powered up, but most of the power would go to the car charger. In an appliance/car situation, you would put the laundry dryer on the main line and the car charger on the secondary line. So there’s always enough power on both ports to keep the lights on in the devices, so to speak. There are two plug outlets: A default port that gets the power as long as it wants to draw it, and a second port cranks up when the first port no longer draws large amounts of electricity. The intelligence lies in the adapter’s ability to choose which outlet to send power - and how much power to send. Simply splitting the outlet could be hazardous and would probably/hopefully trip your breaker as soon as more than 40A of power was drawn, so as not to burn down your home. NeoCharge isn’t just splitting the outlet into two plugs. Voltage: 240 VAC nominal, single phase .What is this black magic device, exactly? Specs ![]() And if you have a second EV, you’ve surely needed one rather than calling an electrician to run a second 240V line. If you are an EV owner with a dryer in your garage, you’ve probably dreamed up the NeoCharge product already.

![]() So I'm going to have to select a new IDE anyway whether that be Gtk, Qt, or whatever. Of course, my current code is pretty much tied to Windows since it's very C++/MFC centric. I'm just not sure I want the server to be Windows based on the direction MS have been taking. ![]() Anything involving alternate streams would be limited to the server. ![]() It's a client-server type setup with a web browser as the client. In my case, having that functionality bound to a specific platform and file system will work fine. I use alternate streams in a several of my own programs but I'm worried about what will happen if I ever have to migrate from NTFS. And they're also not supported in FAT-style file systems or non-Windows network transfers, which means you loose all your info if you copy your files via those mechanisms. My ECC checking has turned up reading issues on USB drives that aren't reported in the error logs and I don't trust the standard USB drivers to report disk errors as reliably as SATA drivers do.Īlternate streams are terrific - the problem is that I don't believe they are slated to be supported in any file systems that are slated to replace NTFS. But that's not because I fear bit rot, it's because I want to catch unrecoverable reads and also catch any issues that may be caused by things like USB interfaces that glitch somehow. That having been said, I still ECC check my files on a regular basis. But is it really something that someone with maybe a dozen drives (including backups) needs to worry about? I suppose if you're Google or the NSA and you have several multi-petabyte data centres then you're apt to run into the most unlikely of scenarios sooner or later. Bad blocks that the drive doesn't catch as being bad blocks seems like an awfully long shot to me. ECC codes in drives are pretty sophisticated - this "supposed" bit rot would have to be extremely specific to cause data to change in a way that those codes would miss.īad blocks I get. I'm still very skeptical about the risk of "bit rot". To be honest, speaking for myself, bit-rot is a risk but not one that keeps we awake at night. I'll be using FreeFileSync to transfer the photos from my SD cards to my hard drive and compare the files by content from now on.Īnother nice thing about using FreeFileSync is that if more photos are taken without deleting the photos already in a folder on the SD card, FreeFileSync can do an "Update" function and just add the new photos to the destination folder.
![]() In his review for Pitchfork Media, critic Tom Breihan calls Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix “the most exciting album this decade”. The album marks a significant departure from Phoenix’s earlier work and incorporates more ambitious production techniques including synths, samples, and guest vocals all around a style described as highly orchestrated pop rock. It has been heralded by critics as one of the best albums of 2009 and a game changer for the indie music scene. What do you think of the album? Let us know by posting a comment below. Why Phoenix Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix Is Necessary?īest phoenix wolfgang amadeus phoenix is the fourth album by French indie rock band Phoenix, released in 2009. But while the mid-tempo likes of ‘Lasso’ and ‘Rome’ are hardly going to tear music a new asshole, Phoenix manage to maintain the airy and Air-y mood consistently enough for that to be not much more than a gripe. Gradually Mars’ melodies take a back seat, as they settle into a pleasant but less sharply lit groove. Of course it wouldn’t be a Phoenix album if it didn’t sag a bit in the second act. They then chase that with ‘Part 2’, which translates as ‘Ladies And Gentlemen We Are Floating In Space And It’s Really Nice’. As a sign of confidence/foolishness/Gallic perversity they hammer home this banging opening trilogy with five minutes of delicate instrumental – ‘Love Like A Sunset Part 1’ – Sigur Ros’s ‘( )’ with less between the brackets. It is also ridiculously front-loaded: the tap-tappity rhythms of ‘Lisztomania’, then ‘1901’ and its rave-like stop-go guitars, followed by the classic Phoenix of ‘Fences’, containing a future-funk breakdown Jamiroquai would cut off his penis to own. The real star of the show isn’t the often-bloodless figure of Thomas Mars, it’s the brilliantly detailed production, centred around the dovetailing drum and guitar chops, best heard via headphones for the full stroboscopic effect. ‘Wolfgang Amadeus…’ achieves an optimal blend of interlocking rhythms adapted from ‘Is This It’’s undying template, and their more long-standing soft rock influences. ![]() But in its infatuation with The Strokes, it did at least lay the groundwork for what we’ve got here. 2006’s ‘It’s Never Been Like That’ was a case in point – often drowning in its own stylised inertia. Long beloved of a hardcore of tastemaking types like Sofia Coppola and Hedi Slimane, their recorded output hasn’t always lived up to a fistful of great singles. ![]() Given the fevered way the blogs seized on ‘1901’, there’s now even talk of an ‘Elbow Moment’ of real mainstreaming. If Brian Eno wanted to do ‘Music For Airports Two’, he’d just tape a Phoenix album with a bunch of gate announcements over it and spend the time he saved thinking up more policy proposals for the Lib Dems.Īnyway, ‘Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix’… in case the title didn’t give it away, the French faux-funkers’ fourth is intended to be their Pompidou Centre – taking their formula to a yes-the-pipes-are-on-the-bloody-outside level of showmanship. Emotionally neutral but texturally rich – they’re the sound of Richard Rogers’ utopian future. Conversely, Phoenix are what architects should dance to. It’s often said that writing about music is like dancing about architecture. Since Node.js is a JavaScript runtime built on Chrome's V8 JavaScript engine, you can use JavaScript methods such as encodeURI() and encodeURIComponent() to encode a URL. decodeURIComponent () is a function property of the global object. In this article, you'll learn how to encode or decode a URL string and query string parameters in a Node.js application. It converts a string into a valid URL format making the transmitted data more reliable and secure. The node:stringdecoder module provides an API for decoding Buffer objects into strings in a manner that preserves encoded multi-byte UTF-8 and UTF-16 characters. You need a library like URI.js to convert between a URI and IRI (Internationalized Resource Identifier). Trim padding - window.atob might handle trimmed strings, e.g.URL encoding is commonly used to avoid cross-site scripting (XSS) attacks by encoding special characters in a URL. The decodeURI () function decodes the URI by treating each escape sequence in the form XX as one UTF-8 code unit (one byte). It would be better to have the explicit base64url format for this. Import from 'url-safe-base64' const safe = encode ( 'A/B+C=' ) // > 'A-B_C=' trim ( safe ) // > 'A-B_C' const base64 = decode ( safe ) // > 'A/B+C=' isBase64 ( base64 ) // > true isBase64 ( safe ) // > false isUrlSafeBase64 ( base64 ) // > false isUrlSafeBase64 ( safe ) // > true API encode(base64) When creating a Buffer from a string, this encoding will also correctly accept 'URL and Filename Safe Alphabet' as specified in RFC4648, Section 5. ![]() It supports height and radial options and matches everything perfectly without needing an extra pass, so I'm pretty happy with it. It's basically just a new shader for the stock GlobalFog image effect. The other features should go up more quickly, the fog thing just took forever to find a good solution. To hydroform aluminium into a vehicles frame rail, a hollow tube of aluminium is placed inside a negative mold that has the shape of the desired result. ![]() I didn't get to some features, because I ran out of time and I wanted to make sure that the GlobalFog deferred solution was available ASAP. Hydroforming is a specialized type of die forming that uses a high pressure hydraulic fluid to press room temperature working material into a die. I submitted a new update yesterday, changelist below. I simply added a "Fog Override" with a distance and falloff setting so the user can manually adjust it. The final solution is disappointing, but works well enough and is faster than the multi-pass one. I tried several CameraEvents to hook into, but it was always glitchy. You would need to be an experienced graphics programmer to take advantage of it, so Im not sure there is a market there for asset developers. Now, I could just use the depth buffer I use to determine the shorelines, but the CommandBuffer screen grab was just too glitchy to even try that. This occurs because again, the ShadowCaster pass comes first, writes to the depth buffer and now when it's read back I don't get the terrain depth, I instead get the surface depth, so it thinks all the water is at depth 0. This worked-ish (the screen appeared to be a frame late, darker, and periodically flashed), but then the problem was that the 'fog' applied to refracted water as it gets deeper was not there. Then I tried using CommandBuffers instead of GrabPass so I could grab the screen before ShadowCaster. I even tried separating the ShadowCaster pass into a different material, duplicated the water geometry and assigned the regular color material/shader to one set of geometry with an earlier RenderQueue, and the ShadowCaster material to other geometry with a later RenderQueue, and THAT didn't even work. I also tried to get the regular color pass to occur before the ShadowCaster pass, and this appears to be impossible as well. I tried a bunch of things to try and get GrabPass to come before the ShadowCaster pass without luck. ![]() The ShadowCaster pass also writes to the color buffer, and so when GrabPass is called to fetch the screen texture, a white mess is returned rather than something that can be used for refraction. Unfortunately unlike forward rendering, Deferred doesn't simultaneously write to the GBuffer and the depth buffer in the same pass. In order for Global Fog to work in deferred, there must be a ShadowCaster pass in a shader (this writes to depth buffer). Click to expand.I've been wrestling with deferred mode for about a week now and have exhausted every path I saw to simultaneously have a refraction texture and write to the depth texture for proper fogging via Global Fog. Man thinks 'cause he rules the earth, he can do with it as he pleasesAnd if things don't change soon, he willMan has invented his doomFirst step was touching. The choice he made, influenced the end of two lives and one more, the life of his wife Madge. Being blinded with his jealousy, John kills Mary and her young lover James and himself. Or in the C section, the topic of jealousy is being explored by the author. But there was John, near, twice a week and she did not try to change the situation somehow, fully subordinating her own desires to John’s ones. In this situation John was not the one, determined for Mary and being a great and tidy woman, very concerned about her man, she would have managed to find a better fortune for herself. ![]() Having picked up the way with the medicine, she nothing but showed that she is a weak creature, who decided to follow the flow, not to resist the circumstances of her life. And no matter how much Mary wants to see other decision, he is the only person to do this, and he made his choice. But the brutal reality is that John is to decide for himself what he is to do in the life. Actually, she thought that John would save her, take her to the hospital, repent and they would get married finally. For example, it the section B, where Mary commits suicide it is well depicted. Then, Margaret Atwood enlarges on the topic and proposes the different scripts with quite different endings to show, that a person has a right to choose. Whether it be John or Mary or James and Madge or whoever more, the obstacles, met by a person within his or her life denotes that the person is alive and moreover, is able to overcome them. For example, the repetition of some phrases like “Fall in love”, “get married”, “stimulating and challenging”, “real estate values”, the repetition of these words or phrases aims at emphasizing that no matter what the script of life is, people come across the same things during their lives. The feeling of the deeper thought, enclosed in the plain content is evoked by miscellaneous devices, used by the author. Atwood, being aware of it, puts much of the context in such a few content, that it makes one respect the author. In the short story like “Happy Endings” it is an impermissible way to put meaningless or spare words within. As the characters have their place and functions, words are meaningful and the message itself is symbolic. Then, the symbolism of the story can not be lost on the reader. Not only it a uniting factor for the stories, it also plays as a main symbol and a message of the story. Though all the stories are really different, they all have one and the same uniting factor, which is the same ending of them. The same characters, used are piercing through the story, being a red line of it are used with a purpose, the author is to reveal only at the end of the story. Probably, there is something missed by the reader or the author is eager to say something important by that. Why the same people appear to be in different life situations for five times. And reading the same names within it one is forced to think “why?”. The same characters are playing different roles each and every time, wandering from A part of the story to E part. Atwood’s story evokes some non-material symbols and feelings in one’s sub-consciousness. This approach is being used frequently by Atwood, as it has been revealed by Rose Wilson in her study “Intertext in Atwood’s psychological text reverberates with mythic significance, giving us courage to face themes of sexual politics–in literature, society, and our lives.” (Wilson, xv). Main bodyįirstly, after the reading of the story it occurs that it is a psychological story. The plot of the story, presenting some options of one and the same volume of people is able to still be the deepest thought within itself, being interpreted in a right way. The short story called “Happy Endings” is not an exclusion from a general rule as Margaret Atwood managed both to put a deep context within a two-page-story and to reveal her own viewpoint to the reader of the story. So, she is really concerned with the issues she writes about and with the matters she brings up within her writings. Besides, she is the writer, who puts her soul within the works. The works by Margaret Atwood are found to contain deep context, enclosed within the novels, poems and even the shortest stories of hers. The matter is not included how much one writes, but rather how applicable and deep it is. ![]() Atwood, being called a classical writer of today, is a truly outstanding novelist, poet, short story writer. |
